Blue Moon

Solo Art Exhibition by Robyn Jackson

Award-winning artist Robyn Jackson is celebrating her 10th solo exhibition and art sale. The exhibition runs for three weeks from 15th November to 3rd December. Open Tuesdays to Sundays, 10.30 to 4pm at the beautiful Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery at Gladstone. NSW.

This is a different exhibition for me. After painting for 10 years fulltime as an artist I need to make room in my storeroom for new paintings. So, I am having a “Once in a Blue Moon” art sale. This is also an acknowledgement also of people doing it tough this year. My exhibition will consist of a mixture of new paintings and previously exhibited work at sale price.

Painting on silk is my favourite medium. I am inspired by the vibrant colours on silk and the way the dye flows and blends to create infinite colours. I have also been experimenting with oil of late.

I am constantly taking photos of our beautiful beaches and bush as inspiration for my silk paintings. I start with a strong photo (or photos), then my mark making consists of a gutta (coloured rubber) drawing followed by vibrant coloured dyes that create a story of their own.

The exhibition includes original paintings, limited edition prints and canvas prints, as well as silk scarves and cards.

I hope you enjoy the exhibition as much as I enjoy making art.” Click on the first painting to see the slideshow and price details.
