"Ocean Deep"

Solo Art Exhibition by Robyn Jackson Silk ArtisT

After finding a big, dead sea turtle washed up at Crescent Head Beach (probably killed by plastic ingestion) as well as watching the "War on Waste "documentaries and reading articles from our local mag Coastbeat, I started to ask myself questions.” How we can help preserve our beautiful beaches and sea creatures from the plastic pollution that has affected so many of our sea animals and birds.”

The exhibition looks at the beauty and fragility of our oceans and pristine beaches. It is also an excuse for me to explore the beauty of life under the sea and also capture images of our local beaches.

“Painting is like breathing to me. I need to document the experiences around me through my connection with the landscape particularly the beach.” Robyn grew up living by the beach at Narrabeen and says “It's in my blood. It is my solace, my joy, my meditation, my direction.”
